Description: One of the most exciting skull tokens we have come across in years is this 1506 Jeton from the Netherlands! This token was once used on a counting board by merchants and accountants in a form of abacus (before they had abacus’ or calculators today) to do larger calculations for purchases and other math needs. This token depicts a skull with a single bone beneath it, surrounded by latin text. The reverse shows a woman standing with a flower in her hand, possibly Venus or other goddess/religious figure. This is the only example graded by any grading service and is an extremely hard token to find. A must have for any collector!
