Description: This is an extremely rare and stunning mint state example of an Old World cob! This 4 reales was struck at the Valladolid mint in Spain and is nearly complete in all details and legend. The coin has a few small stress cracks from when it was struck, and a planchet crack as well, which is typical for the time. The surfaces of this piece are lustrous with a mirror-like finish and slight golden toning in areas. This extreme rarity of a coin is the finest known surviving example made even more unique by the 4 reales denomination.
