Description: A fantastic coin with dark natural patina, which it gained from being lost in the ground for nearly 450 years. This coin has the “A” assayers mark, which was used for only a few short years in this style at the mint. Much of the original details of the dies used to strike this coin are visible, including a nice complete shield. This coin was found by our contacts in Peru who dug it up along an old Spanish mule trail along side several other coins. A great surviving example of 4 reales from this period!
