Description: This is a wonderful straight-grade example of one of the most popular 8 reales minted in the Spanish Empire. This 8 reales has a wonderful large planchet, complete with a beautifully centered full shield, and well struck mint and assayer’s mark on the obverse. On the reverse, a slight double strike is visible, with nicely represented and centered castles/lions and cross.
