Description: This 4 escudos is one of the most exquisite coins we have come across in recent years. Not only is this coin graded as one of the finest known in NGC at Mint State 63, with only 3 graded higher, the surfaces are near perfect, the strike is well centered, and the assayers mark/mint mark are both clearly visible. This variety with the Jerusalem Cross was only struck for a short amount of time during the reign of Philip IV at the Seville mint and only done on the 4 and 8 escudos.
