Description: A choice example of a Mexico minted 8 reales struck between 1634-1641 at the Mexico City mint. This wonderful example was recovered from the Concepcion shipwreck, which sunk in 1641, and includes it’s original certificate of authenticity and flip card. Unlike most cobs from this era, this piece boasts a full shield, mint and assayers mark, denomination and a full cross. A great example of Spanish treasure lost to the seas.
