Description: A spectacular Mexico 8 Reales with a few test cuts and a couple chopmarks on the surfaces. What is a chop mark you might ask. When Spanish silver made it’s way to the Far East, local merchants in China would often strike their mark into the coin to prove it was in fact silver. The large gash cuts you see on the reverse are from those merchants making sure the coin was not silver outside with a lesser metal inside. This is a wonderful addition to the coin as it shows it traveled the world before ending here in our collection. With many wonderful details visible, this is a coin meant for any serious collector!
