Description: This is a wonderful surviving example of a 1/2 reales from 1684 recovered from the 1715 Fleet sites along the east coast of Florida. Visible CAROLUS monogram on obverse, visible 84 date, and a reverse used at the Lima mint for many decades. The pentagon shaped planchet is a nice unique feature.
