Description: This is a stunning and highly sought after 2 escudos minted in the New World and graded by NGC as mint state 64! This beautiful specimen was likely recovered from the 1715 Fleet shipwrecks that sunk in a hurricane off the East coast of Florida on July 31st, 1715! Upon close inspection, you can still see tiny remnants of coral in the devises on the reverse. This little gem displays gorgeous original mint luster, excellent strike, and all around eye appeal that makes this piece perfect for any collector of Spanish Colonial gold cobs.
