Description: A gorgeous example of an 8 reales from the Lima mint, lost on a shipwreck for over 300 years! This cob was hammer struck at the Lima mint in 1704 and likely recovered from the famous 1715 Fleet that was lost in a hurricane off the coast of Florida on July 31st 1715. A stunning example complete with a full date, nice centering, and a bold cross. A perfect coin for any shipwreck coin collector or collector of Spanish Colonial coinage.
