Description: A wonderful and rare example of a Potosi 8 Reales cob with a full date! This coin has a full 1712 date, putting its mintage during the famous 1715 Fleet era. The obverse has a solid centered strike, with a partial double strike and legend. The reverse has a well centered cross, visible castles and lions, and the “Y” assayer mark can be seen to the right. A wonderful and rare piece perfect for any collector of Spanish Colonial silver or pirate treasure!
