1730-1732 Mexico 4 Reales Cob
Item #CC-0811 | 1730-1732 Mexico 4 Reales Cob
Mint: Mexico City
Assayer: F
Ruler/Period: King Philip V
Weight: 12.6 grams
Description: A nice specimen from the last era of cob coinage produced at the Mexico City mint. Many such examples ended up at the bottom of the sea on wrecks like the 1733 Fleet and the many Dutch East India Co. vessels. This example has a near complete date, clear mint and assayers marks, as well as a nice cross on the reverse. The edges are clean, as well as the surfaces, with slight loss from likely being recovered off a wreck.
