Description: This coin is currently the finest and only known example graded by PCGS. This coin displays an unusual quality of strike as well as many of the most desirable design elements collectors covet. First, the coin in full weight at 27.71 grams. Then, on the obverse, the coin displays a sharp 737 date, both assayer and mint marks, the Spanish motto PLV SVL TRA (Latin for “more beyond”) and a strongly struck “8” for the denomination.  On the reverse, you just can’t ask for a better strike as the coin displays boldly struck castles and lions, a full cross, assayer’s initial, and mint mark.

It is no wonder that this coin was part of the Rutherford collection!
