Description: This is an exceptional surviving example of a Spanish Colonial Pillar Dollar minted at the Lima mint. The overall eye appeal and lack of significant contact marks makes this coin a premium quality coin that looks every bit equal to similar examples in MS-63 or higher. Very few of these 8 Reales have survived the centuries in such pristine condition, and these pillar dollars are an excellent bridge between World and U.S. coins. With the Spanish dollar being the basis of the U.S. coinage, this is a must have for any collector.
