Description: This beautiful near gem uncirculated Morgan Dollar is graded by PCGS as Mint State 64. It is encapsulated in an old PCGS “Rattler” holder and boasts dazzling frosty mint luster. The photos don’t do this coin justice, but this coin is a real blazer!

Morgan Dollars were minted from 1878-1921 in San Francisco, Denver, New Orleans, Carson City, and the Philadelphia mints, with this particular piece being struck in New Orleans. Its composition is made of 90% silver and 10% copper.

The obverse of the coin displays a beautiful portrait of lady Liberty designed by George T. Morgan. The  portrait is surrounded by 13 stars (7 at the left and 6 at the right) representing the original 13 colonies and the Latin words “E . PLURIBUS . UNUM” (meaning Out of Many One) at the upper half of the coin.

The reverse of the coin displays a traditional American eagle holding arrows and a branch in its claws.  The eagle is centered in the design with the words “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” around the upper portion of the outer rim and “IN GOD WE TRUST” above the eagle. The denomination “ONE DOLLAR” is struck below the eagle at the outer lower rim. The mint mark “O” is located directly above the “DO” for DOLLAR directly under the bow.

Morgan dollars that have superb eye appeal as this one does are highly sought after and this coin is a wonderful example!
