Description: This well-preserved Spanish two reales cob displays a well centered and slightly double struck shield on the obverse, boldly struck assayer mark “B” and II reales denomination marks.  The reverse displays nice details around the Jerusalem cross with castles and lions in the octolobe. Struck pre-1622, this Atocha era 2 reales is a beautiful example of cobs minted in the golden age of Spanish coinage.
